The Free University of Philadelphia exists to provide every person the opportunity to receive an empowering education. We are collectively re-imagining what public education means and what it looks like. The university functions in a directly democratic manner to ensure transparency, accountability, and student-faculty collaboration.

The Free University is an experiment. We welcome everyone to take an active role in teaching, participating in classes and organizing the university.  The Free University is a project of Occupy Philadelphia and the broader Occupy movement.
